BUSINESS: Company is a full service butcher shop and meat market, providing a complete line of deli meats, cheeses, salads, prepared foods, grocery and specialty items, frozen foods, subs and sandwiches, breads and produce. The company is particularly noted for the wide range of smoked meats (beef, pork, poultry and other meat varieties), hot dogs, kielbasa and other sausages that are prepared in-house. Over its 30 year history, the business has been geographically relocated to three successively larger facilities without any appreciable loss of previous clientele. The primary source for new customers is the company's reputation for providing high quality foods, at reasonable prices, which generates very effective word-of-mouth advertising. The only print media that the company uses is a display ad in a local newspaper to promote weekly and seasonal specials, new products and services. The company was established in 1979 and has no website and does no web advertising. Occasionally, a glowing newspaper article or human interest story about the company, will spark a wave of new activity.

 
FACILITIES:  The company employs 12 and leases approximately 5,200 sq. ft. of space, divided to provide about 2/3 of the space for retail and the remainder used for food preparation, smokehouse, office space and storage. GROWTH AND EXPANSION: The owner feels that the company should remain specialized and not attempt to compete with the major food chains. The smoked and prepared meats continue to be the most requested items in the store and could easily be expanded. A seafood section was briefly added to the store's product line, becoming enormously popular.
